Discover the fascinating story of Chabad in America's first supporter and his unique, enduring relationship with the Rebbe Rayatz and the Rebbe—a connection that changed the trajectory of his life and, in turn, altered the course of post-Holocaust Jewry, forever.

“We four souls have known each other before we met here on earth. It is not an accident that we now find ourselves engaged in a common interest.”
— The Rebbe Rayatz
12 Teves, 5705 (December 28, 1944)
Your last interview with him, which I was privileged to witness, so soon before his ascent to higher worlds...should be considered in the nature of a last will and testament to you and me, and as a guiding light to illuminate your path in life and direct your principal endeavors into the right channel.
— The Rebbe
7th Iyar, 5710 (April 24, 1950)
I can hardly let this holiday period pass without straining myself to do what I can for what you and your revered father-in-law so nobly stand for. You are constantly in my mind and exist as a positive, though silent monitor for me, and I am sure for many others, exemplifying the highest that man can attain...
— Julius Stulman

The Story of Chabad in America Through the Folders of Nissan Mindel

First book in a collection on the story of Chabad in America, culled from the folders of Rabbi Dr. Nissan Mindel (1912–1999).

Nissan Mindel served the Rebbe Rayatz and the Rebbe as personal secretary as well as chief of their secretariat—in addition to his prolific English writings and translations of Chasidus for young and old, writings which they deemed key in opening up and spreading the wellsprings of Chasidus to the world.

He was a founding member of Kehos Publication Society, serving at its helm during his lifetime of devoted service to the Rebbes. His fascinating folders give us a glimpse into the story of Chabad in America.
