The question that resounded in my mind was:

If the reason I believe in the values I believe in is due to the fact that I grew up in Eretz Yisrael (the Land of Israel), and that Raja (the Indian fellow I met in the village of Dhjari) believes in the values he believes in is because he grew up here in the Himalayas - what would be if the tables were reversed, i.e., if I were to have been born and raised in India and he in Erets Yisrael? Apparently, each of us would believe in the values prevalent in the place he grew up in. This being the case, where does the truth lie? Where are absolute values to be found, values that do not vary in accordance with location, ime, or culture?

Step by step, Nadav Cohen unfolds the account of his process of teshuvah - his return to Jewish observance - as he shares with the reader the inner struggles of a typical Israeli youth exposed for the first time in his life to authentic Judaism during a spiritual odyssey to the Far East.
His story is in essence not only a personal one but also that of the Teshuvah movement in general, and the story of the thousands in our generation who undertook the teshuvah process and returned to Jewish observance in particular.
