The portrayal of the fallen angels (Nephilim) is of enormous consequence. This enigmatic and beguiling story is an esoteric teaching that permeates much of the Torah. This work explores the historical and mystical paths that the story of giants has endured, imploring the reader to reconsider this antediluvian myth and its relevance for our day.
In Nephilim: Giant and Fallen Angels, Yisroel Cohen ponders the depths of Chazal and uncovers a fascinating new dimension to a world long thought to be forgotten.
“This is truly an original work that initially may be a bit shocking…but the attentive reader will learn quite a lot and be amply rewarded. We are grateful to the author for shedding light on an obscure, neglected part of Toras Hashem.”
Yitzchak A. Breitowitz Rav, Kehillat Ohr Somayach
“Cohen’s book is a significant contribution that sheds further light on the origin and afterlife of the fallen angels’ traditions. This thought-provoking study is a must-read for everyone who is interested in Jewish history and theology.”
Andrei A. Orlov, Professor of Judaism and Christianity in Antiquity, Marquette University
