Throughout the time of the first Beis Hamikdash, Bnei Yisrael had the Five Books of the Torah, as well as the seforim of Yehoshua, Shoftim, Rus, Shmuel, Tehillim, Mishlei, and Iyov. These seforim were enough to support Yisrael and guide them to a life of shleimus.
When Bnei Yisrael did not hold themselves to the highest of standards, Hashem sent nevi’im to rebuke them and bring them back.
These words of nevuah were recorded as a guide to prevent Yisrael from drifting away from Hashem to act like any other nation. In every generation, we are meant to benefit and grow from this rebuke and revelation. By studying the nevi’im, Bnei Yisrael can live up to their calling as the mamleches kohanim.
Melachim II concludes with the burning of the Beis Hamikdash and Klal Yisrael’s exile from their land. We are left longing for redemption. Chazal state that one who lights a fire must pay for the damage it causes. Hashem lit the fire that destroyed the Beis Hamikdash, and we cannot await an yearn for His promise to rebuild it.

“A tremendous Yashar koach for the gavildic seforim you produced. I have really enjoyed them and learned a lot from them.”
